Can I use a 25 amp fuse instead of a 20 amp on my Ford Excursion?
My blinker, hazard and brake lights were all not working. I had one of those fuses that lights up when it is out, and it did. So I changed it, but it lit up again. It calls for a 20 amp. I found a 25 amp and put it in, and they are all working again. The manual says it can cause a fire if I have a larger amp than it calls for. Is it okay, or should I get it checked out? Could I just unplug another fuse that isn’t necessary to prevent an overload on the system?
It turns out the new 20 amp fuses that I bought were bad. I went on my 4th trip to the auto parts store and got some new 20′s and it worked perfectly. Problem solved. Thanks for all your help everyone!!
